WCAA Open Graded Meetings

The Open Graded Meetings planned for the 2021 season have been cancelled because of the Coronavirus crisis. We dont yet know when competitions will resume or if we will be able to hold any Opens later in the year. Watch this space for news.

The meetings are intended to be very low maintenance for the athletes. Turn up, enter on the night, pay £5, compete, coffee and cake and finally go home – but arrive in good time because entries for each event close 30 minutes before the event scheduled start time. Dont forget to bring pins – you will need 8 – or you can buy a set for 50p which goes to a very good local cause – Myton Hospice.

You can save time on the night by downloading an entry form (which includes the timetable) and completing it advance but forms will be available on the night. Note that the events differ at each meeting. Note also that this years forms (for 2020) are not ready yet.

Be aware that the Coventry Godiva Harriers track is owned by Warwick University who impose a dog free zone on the whole area. There are notices at every entrance explaining this.

Before your race – there may be several heats but the “seeding” which tells you which heat you are in will be posted on a small white board near the start point – or ask one of the starters assistants.
After the race – the results will be posted on a notice board by the wooden shed on the outside of the track just past the finish line. They will also be put on this web site and Facebook the same evening. Athletes who supply an e-mail address will be sent their own copy (if the address is readable!!).
