Warwickshire Road Race League – update

The current position of races in the 2021 Warwickshire Road Race League is still somewhat uncertain.
The good news is that the last three League races scheduled from September onwards (Kenilworth Half Marathon, Balsall Common 10k and the Rugby 10mile) are quite confident that they will go ahead.
The bad news is that ALL of the races that are normally held in the months up to and including August have been cancelled or postponed. The organising clubs of several of the postponed races hope to be able to stage their events later than usual but their plans are dependent on Covid developments.
We can only suggest that you keep an eye on this web site, our Facebook pages and the various Club web sites and FB pages in the hope that your favourite events do happen thus enabling you to enter them.

Elliot Giles breaks Seb Coe’s 800m GB record

In Torun, Poland at one of the World Tour events Elliot Giles of Birchfield Harriers broke Seb Coe’s long standing 800m British indoor record. With a time of 1.43.63 not only was this a British record but it is also the second fastest 800m of all time indoors.

This performance came on the back of two other World Tour wins at 800m and a new 1500 personal best and capped an excellent three weeks for Elliot. He is now back in training as he focusses on the outdoor season and his Olympic campaign.
