2022 Cross Country Championships

will be held on Saturday 8th January 2022
at Newbold Revell near Stretton Under Fosse

We are very grateful to the Malt Kiln Farm Shop, which is a key part of a local family farming business owned by Mr and Mrs J. V. Lea, for their generous support. We are also very appreciative of Mr and Mrs Lea and Mrs J Aston for giving us access across parts of their land. We ask that spectators respect their kindness by keeping to footpaths and do not venture onto arable fields where winter crops will be growing.

The venue includes a Manor House which is currently used to train Prison Officers but it has a very interesting history going back to Medieval times. It is well worth asking Mr Google for more information. The house is set in over 100 acres of woodland, gardens and a lake that we will be using for our course together with land on the adjacent farms.

There are a couple of important changes this year.

There has been a move in some events to give equality of distances to Women and those events ask the Men AND Women to compete over 10k.  WCAA has some reservations about this and so has decided to test the change, but slowly. This years Senior Womens race will be over 7k (rather than 6k). We shall be very interested in feedback afterwards because we have to decide to go back to 6k, stay at 7k or move up to 8k in 2023.

The Under 20 age groups will run alongside the seniors and masters this year just as they do in their League races. There will still be separate awards for the Under 20s, Seniors and Masters but, bearing in mind that an U20 and Master can choose to enter as a senior, any athlete can only win awards or contribute to a team score, for the age group in which they are entered.

It is a condition of entry that you read the prospectus (just below) and accept the terms and conditions in it. The prospectus includes the timetable.
